Does anyone know the origins of nostalgic aquarium lamp?

Sometime last year, Frutiger Aero aesthetics surged in popularity. One of its prominent icons is the aquarium lamp (although there are some debates whether it’s correct to put its visual under Frutiger Aero category). Many associated the aquarium lamp with their childhood. While I don’t share the same nostalgic memories, I do find the lamp very mesmerizing!

My aquarium lamp!

Apparently it’s not hard to find one online. It’s also pretty cheap here in Indonesia – costs me only around $8. The box only says “Seabed World Lamp Lighting Move”, warning message written in sloppy English and a claim that it’s made in China. Still not sure what company is the original creator of the aquarium lamp…a quick Google search doesn’t give me any information. Does anyone know??

The box doesn’t show any clues on the manufacturer
Never made a fanart of an inanimate object before, but here we are!

Was so in love with the lamp I made a shaker keychain and sticker as a tribute….and I was not the only one. I launched these two products last year at an offline art market and was pretty surprised to see other fellow artists selling their own versions. Honestly, I was more delighted rather than annoyed. It’s pretty lovely to see an inanimate object receiving so much love haha!

I also made this desktop organizer set, loosely inspired by the lamp and driven by short-lived obsession with the idea of having a mini fish tank on my desk.
